First Rams Mock Draft With the Official Comp Picks:

Mock Draft

Several runs through these mocks, it has become more and more apparent that the Rams have to draft either and EDGE rusher or a CB with one of those first two picks. They just have to.

  1. Round 2, Pick 36 overall
      • Thought the CBs that were available were not worthy of the 36th pick
      • The only tight end I would have considered there was Darnell Washington
      • Keion White, EDGE, Georgia
      • 6'5" , 285. Versatile. Big, strong, and athletic.
  2. Round 3, Pick 69 overall
      • Derek Hall, another EDGE I like, was still there. Mental note to self.
      • I felt like we had to go CB here
      • The three on the board were Kyu Blu Kelley (Stanford), Eli Ricks (Alabama) and Julius Brents, Kansas State
      • I went with Julius Brents
      • 6'3" 198, Lance Zeurlein: Brents is a classic zone cover corner with an outstanding blend of size, length and leaping ability.
  3. Round 5, pick 167 overall (Comp)
      • Payne Durham, TE, Purdue
  4. Round 5, pick 171 overall (Comp)
      • Jonathan Mingo, WR, Ole Miss
  5. Round 5, pick 177 overall
      • Tyler Lacy, DE,
  6. Round 6, Pick 182 overall
      • Juice Scruggs, IOL, Penn State
  7. Round 6, Pick 189 overall (from ATL)
      • Chris Rodriguez Jr, RB, Kentucky, 6', 217
      • Powerful runner. Two time team captain.
  8. Round 6, Pick 191 overall (from TEN)
      • Alex Austin, CB, Oregon State
      • 6'1", 195
      • Can play zone and bump and run well
